VACANCY – POLICE & SCHOOLS PANEL PARTNERSHIP MANAGER

REQUIRED FOR SEPTEMBER 2019

SALARY:               GR5 (£33,437 - £41,025) – pro rata 0.4 FTE (actual £13,374 - £16,410)

CONTRACT:        INITIAL FIXED TERM CONTRACT FOR 12 MONTHS

We are seeking to appoint a motivated and dynamic Partnership Manager with excellent communication, administrative, IT and analytical skills to drive the work of the Police and Schools Panels in Edgbaston, Northfield and Selly Oak districts.  This is an exciting and critical role working between schools and the Police to help safeguard young people.

Entering the ninth year of operation, Birmingham Police and School Panels operate in nine areas across the city serving 90 secondary schools.  The aim of the work is to prevent young people from becoming involved or further involved in crime and anti-social behaviour as victims or offenders.  This is achieved by providing a consistent, accountable framework for information sharing and police/school partnership work.

We are looking for someone with a proven track record of engaging external partners, coordinating and facilitating meetings at a strategic level and providing a professional level of administrative support.

Working with the Panel chairs, the post-holder will be required to facilitate the delivery of six meetings in each of the three districts across the academic year. The successful candidate will also be responsible for weekly information sharing with schools and act as a liaison between schools and West Midlands Police as required.

You should be a proficient user of Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint programs, have excellent abilities in both oral and written communication.  You should also have a desire to work with schools to help improve outcomes for young people.

The Police and School Panels operate as an unconstituted partnership and are unable to directly employ staff due to the structure but can offer the role on a Service Level Agreement from the applicant’s current employer.  Applicants are therefore required to have the approval of their current employer to apply for this role.

The role will be offered for a period of 12 months initially, for 0.4 FTE.  Term time only requests will be considered.

For an informal discussion about the role, please contact Hollie Parrish on 07957 698 400 or via email h.parrish@lumenchristi.org.uk

Closing date for applications is midday on Wednesday 5th June 2019.  Application forms should be submitted to Hollie Parrish C/o St. Paul’s Catholic Primary School, Sisefield Road, Birmingham B38 9JB or email via h.parrish@lumenchristi.org.uk
